A simple one!Myth or true that when hair are long and ruined on the edge I have to cut them to grow

l am just asking cause l would like to know if this is a "trick" that hairdressers do to get more money out of the clients or if it's true that you have to cut your hair to grow longer although they are ruined on the edge and they are growing from the route!

A simple one!Myth or true that when hair are long and ruined on the edge I have to cut them to grow longer?

hair is growing from the top of our head...and yes when they re long, brushing and continuous styling makes split ends so you have to cut the edges. They still grow but they're healthier. Split ends can reach the top of your head and ruin the hair...

if you trim off the split ends your hair will grow much quicker and look much healthier

I'm assuming that you are referring to split ends, right? You should get your hair trimmed about every 6-8 weeks to remove the split ends. It doesn't physically make your hair grow longer, but your hair looks so much healthier without the fuzzy ends. Plus, if you don't have split ends, your hair is less likely to tangle up, so this decreases the chance of breakage higher up the hair's shaft. No, it's not a trick.

Your hair will keep growing even if you have split ends it is a myth, but i do get a trim to keep it looking tidy.

haha i think the name spit ends sums it up pretty well but i may be wrong.... it will continue to split and give you ratty un healthy hair. if you dont like getting it cut i'd suggest having the minimum cut off that your hairdresser recommends and then consistently cut it (maybe an inch at a time, as it grows obviously) until it's the length you like. then each time it grows a little bit you can cut it with out loosing half your hair.

If the ends are split..yes you must trim it...split ends are not repairable, conditioners strengthen the hair, and protect it so that it won't split as easily, once it splits, you gotta cut it, if you ignore split ends..they just break off at their weakest point. Have you seen the girls w/long hair but there are like about 20 hairs at the bottom? (ok maybe more than 20 hairs) this is what we (stylists) call "sexy" hair..you can see right thru it!

katerina, its not a trick it's just a lack of knowledge on their

part it's very basic. hair grows from the roots not from the ends(.They have it wrong trees grow at the ends, hair from the roots.) If you want nice longer hair take good care of the ends. By not pulling to hard, when you comb out any

knots, that may have formed. use a good conditioner, every time you shampoo it does not be expensive to be good try

the lower priced one first till you find one you like

I thought that was always true until I looked on a hair website that listed all the myths...and this one was a myth. Now i dont cut my hair as much.

A simple one!Myth or true that when hair are long and ruined on the edge I have to cut them to grow longer?

wat u do to make ur hair grow longer and better is trim the edges (split ends) and then it will look better and grow longer.

A simple one!Myth or true that when hair are long and ruined on the edge I have to cut them to grow longer?

Your hair will grow either way. Clean trimmed ends will look better and grow faster, but split ends will still continue to grow. Hair grows an average of 1/2 inch per month so if you are trying to grow it out longer, I would get it trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks so as not to trim off all of your growth.

A simple one!Myth or true that when hair are long and ruined on the edge I have to cut them to grow longer?

Split ends travel up the shaft of the hair, splitting away as they go. (Evil Devils!) So if you don't cut them off, then the damage will go up, up, up!

So. Cutting your hair, eliminates that tug-of-war, and your hair will continue to grow uninterrupted.

A simple one!Myth or true that when hair are long and ruined on the edge I have to cut them to grow longer?

Even if you have split ends your hair will still grow, because, as you say, the hairs are growing from the root...

also, omgosh! we have the same name! ive never seen anyone (except for the ice skater) with the name Katerina like me!

Yay!
