How can I get my 6 year old's hair to grow around the frontal hairline?

We are African American. Last year while staying with a relative her hair was chemically relaxed, and overprocessed. Leaving her hair broken and without body. Although it has grow back quite a bit, her hair is now continually dry and breaking, with bald spots appearing around the edges. I am concerned about it becoming a permanent hairloss problem. Please help!!!

Your best bet would be to see a trichologist as they are the hair experts.

Given that your daughter is 6, i would advise not getting her chemically "altered" in any way be it colouring, perming or relaxing. She is still young and this may cause much damage to her hair instead of making it nice.

If the problem lies with unruly hair that is hard to tame (common among African Americans), you could try keeping her hair short. For long hair, tie it up. Use interesting accesories for her hair so that it looks nice and is controlled at the same time. But please do not tie her hair up for now as it is still damaged and weak.

You should probably wait a few more years when she is 11 or 12 to relax her hair or let her undergo any chemical treatment.

In the meantime, just use a hair oil and massage it onto her scalp and try to leave it alone for now. Do not subject the scalp to further stress.

As I am no hair expert, hope this helps and good luck!

Don't use any more relaxers on her hair(even those made for children). Also, make sure that you oil her scalp often.Usually when the hair becomes dry it gets itchy and uncomfortable.Try a hair grease containing tea tree oil. Also, don't do anything that will unnecessarily pull on the hair as this causes breakage as well(lots of rubber bands, tight braids or lots of barrettes.

i think you just have to wait till it grows in!

you should probably get it deep conditioned at least, and go to a specialist like the others said.
