Is there anything I can do to encourage my hair to grow quicker?

My hair is about shoulder length (ie just touching my shoulders and no more) and I would like it a bit longer for my wedding in September, is there anything I can do to encourage growth? I heard that having regular cuts helps it grow, but getting it cut so I can grow it longer seems a bit strange! Any advice would be appreciated!

OK.......Hair grows 6 inches a year.......that is a fact...

YES the more u trim your hair the more it grows back and trust me its TRUE......It always works for me and u shoud try trimming your hair every 6 weeks......It will grow longer and healthier.....

You can try the various products on the market but they are basically vitamin tablets, Good diet will help and regular trims will keep the ends of the hair healthy it doesn't make it grow quicker but it will look much better as it grows.

Also you could try head massage (every day) it encourages increased blood flow to the hair follicles helping with growth.

Edit: There is no definitive amount any ones hair grows a year, it is different for every single person, that is an average or estimate therefore 6inches is not 'FACT'

Cutting your hair to make it grow longer is a myth.I suppose to make your hair grow longer you must take good care of it.Try using some oils(almond oil makes your hair healthier and gives it a shine without making it oily.I put it on my hair and let it stay there under a cap for a bout 3-4 hours and then wash it away with mild shampoo). It works pretty good for me,also dont forget that all people have different hair and it grows faster on most people and slower for the others.Good luck!;)
